Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing

About

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing specializes in women's health across the lifespan, with a focus on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. Our faculty brings extensive clinical experience in maternal and newborn care, reproductive health, and gynecological nursing. The department provides students with opportunities to develop skills in prenatal assessment, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care.

Mission

To prepare compassionate and skilled nursing professionals specializing in women's health, maternal care, and reproductive health, who will provide excellent care throughout the childbearing process and address the unique healthcare needs of women across the lifespan.

Activities

Maternity ward postings for hands-on experience in antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care.
Student-led awareness programs on maternal health, safe delivery, and newborn care.
Workshops on family planning methods and women’s reproductive health.
Participation in health screening and outreach activities for women in the community.

Facilities

The department has a well-equipped Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing Lab with mannequins, pelvic models, and newborn simulators, along with access to labor rooms, postnatal wards, and gynecology units in affiliated hospitals for clinical training.
